Vaani privacy policy

• Audio from your microphone is processed in memory on your Mac. It is not recorded or stored.
• Your text, dictation history, personal dictionary and usage statistics are kept only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Vaani. You can clear them in the app.
• The optional cleanup step uses Apple's on device model.

• When you subscribe: Paddle, our merchant of record, collects your name, email, country and payment details under Paddle's privacy policy. We receive your email, plan and subscription status, never your card details.
• When you activate a licence: our licence server keeps the licence key, an anonymous device code (a one way hash, not your serial number), your Mac's name and when it last checked in, so the 3 Mac limit works. The app checks in about every 3 days.
• When you write to us: whatever you choose to send.

No analytics or advertising trackers in the app, and we do not sell or share data.

Speech models download on first use: Apple's from Apple, and the optional Indian language packs from Hugging Face. These downloads carry nothing you have said.

Licence records are kept while your subscription is active and up to 24 months after, for tax and support, then deleted. To see or delete your data, contact us.
